KFAS founded and established four major centers: The Scientific Center Kuwait, Dasman Diabetes Institute, Sheikh Jaber Al Ahmed Al Sabah Molecular Imaging Center and Sabah Al Ahmed Center for Giftedness and Creativity.

KFAS was founded in 1976. It was established by an Amiri Decree issued by the late Amir of Kuwait, H. H. Sheikh Jaber Al Ahmed Al Sabah. He turned a long-term vision to advance science and technology in the country, into a reality with the establishment of KFAS.

KFAS is a private non-profit organization, funded by Kuwait’s private shareholding companies. The companies contribute 1 percent of their annual net profit to the Foundation.
