The Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences (KFAS) signed a MoU Saturday with the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS).
The deal, on custom publishing and capacity building on Science Communication, was signed between KFAS Director General Dr. Adnan Shihab-Eldin and AAAS CEO Dr. Rush D. Holt.
The agreement states on taking excerpts from most significant science news published by AAAS’ own magazine ‘Science’, a weekly academic journal, translate them into Arabic, and post them for the public as part of KFAS’ plan of promoting science culture, Shihab-Eldin told KUNA.
Science magazine is one of the leading science journals in the world, he said, adding that KFAS is keen on expanding its knowledge sources through this agreement and other ones such as with the UK-based New Scientist magazine.
The KFAS chief also noted that this is the second signed agreement with AAAS following a deal signed last August, which is to hold a workshop in Kuwait next November in order to train researchers on writing and implementing scientific projects.
The directions of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah motivate KFAS to promote science culture among youngsters, and build a promising future backed by a science-based knowledge, he noted.
